Solutions to upgrade your Caterham.
DESCRIPTION
Introduced to the market in 2009, and fitted to hundreds of Caterhams,
this is a updated and improved version of the original joints made back
then.
WHAT DO THEY DO?
For less than the cost of a set of front tyres, these joints will save you money on tyres if you drive on the road with a track setup!
If your tyres wear on the inside edges, its because you have camber settings optimised for track use.
These joints allow quick and precise camber changes to be made in under 2 minutes when you arrive in or leave the paddock, without the need or challenge of splitting the ball joint on the top wishbone.
HOW DO THEY WORK?
The joints have double the resolution of standard top balljoints allowing for more precise adjustment of camber in 0.125 degree steps. This is important in order to compensate accurately for all the minor geometric differences in a Caterham chassis from side to side.
FITTING
Fitting is simple and takes around 15-20 minutes per side.
SPECIFICATION
Using a Teflon®/Kevlar® material as a liner to keep dirt and debris out the Kevlar additionally serves to lubricate the precision ground, heat treated, hard chrome plated 52100 bearing steel ball. No ugly rubber boots are required to protect them so long as the fitting instructions are followed. The other components are plated EN8 high grade engineering steel.
The Teflon®/Kevlar® material injection moulded race won’t loosen with use like traditional PTFE (Teflon®) liners, increasing the usable life of these joints (most sold in 2009-2012 are still in use today, and if properly looked after will continue to look great for many years.
FITMENT
I've been around Caterhams as long as I can remember. My Dad has something of an addiction to these cars, and since the age of about 8 I have been part of his habit, helping work on and latterly designing parts for his and my own car.
Now I'm at Oxford Brookes which is arguably the best university for prospective F1 engineers, with the aim to become a race engineer in top level motorsport.
My journey so far has seen me working on suspension analysis, research and design at one of the most successful Caterham race teams DPR Motorsport who are based close to where I live.
I've also been team lead on Vehicle Dynamics at Oxford Brookes for Formula Student.
The objective of Jack Webb Motorsport is to grow a business which can support my university fees and costs, and also build a name Caterham owners can trust to deliver well executed high quality products to enhance their cars.
I endeavour to keep all items in stock and offer next day delivery on my items in partnership with DPD.
As JWM is a small company, we do not charge VAT.
Please note if you are outside the UK and EU you can still buy some products from me, but the diversity in size and weight of some parts means I ask that you email me so I can calculate the best insured shipping rates.
